This rug is part of our Faryab line. It takes its name from one of the provinces of northern Afghanistan which constitutes the homeland of the Turkmen, who are the primary weavers of these rugs. This rug is Persian knotted. The weaving is medium fine, around 150 knots per square inch. The designs used are a combination of tribal village designs from the Caucasus, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Morocco, and Mamluk designs from Egypt as well as purely contemporary designs. This rug is made with all vegetable dyes.
