info about Nooristan
This line takes its name from Afghanistan’s remote and inaccessible province of Nooristan. It is one of the most finely woven lines of carpets produced anywhere with all natural dyes and handspun wool. These rugs are woven by Turkmen weavers using a Persian knot. The weaving is approximately 15x15 or 225 knots per square inch. The designs we produce in this line vary from the finely knotted carpets of the Persian tradition such as Bidjar, Kashan, Tabriz and Farahan Sarouk to Mughal carpets, Mamluk carpets and other less well known types of designs.
